My key research focus is on the documentation, implementation and evaluation of a speech synthesizer for the Jamaican (Creole) language. I have a multi-disciplinary background in Languages, Linguistics and Information Technology and my areas of interest span Computational Linguistics, Creole Languages and Technology, the Grammars of Creole Languages, Techniques in the teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Language Acquisition, Translation Studies, Technical Documentation and the Virtual Classroom
